ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOWMETER

Model: EMF-212

An Electromagnetic Flowmeter (EMF-212) is a very high-accuracy device used to measure the volumetric flow rate of electrically conductive fluids in pipelines. Operating on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction, it generates a magnetic field across the flow tube; as a conductive fluid passes through this field, a voltage is induced that is proportional to the flow velocity. This voltage is detected by electrodes embedded in the tube wall and converted into a flow signal by the transmitter.

EMF-212s are highly reliable for a wide range of applications, including water and wastewater management, chemical processing, food and beverage industries, mining, and slurry handling.

One of the key advantages of electromagnetic flowmeters is that they have no moving parts, eliminating mechanical wear and reducing maintenance requirements. They are capable of handling fluids with varying viscosities, temperatures, and pressures, provided the fluid maintains a minimum level of conductivity (typically ≥5 µS/cm).

Modern EMF-212s feature advanced diagnostics, digital outputs such as HART®, Modbus®, or Profibus®, and configurations for integral or remote mounting, making them versatile for both compact installations and challenging field conditions. Their bi-directional measurement capability, combined with high accuracy (up to ±0.2% of reading) and stable performance, makes them an industry-standard solution for precise flow measurement in critical processes.
